A SAS Package for Logistic Two-Phase Studies

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2014
Two-phase designs, in which for a large study a dichotomous outcome and partial or proxy information on risk factors is available, whereas precise or complete measurements on covariates have been obtained only in a stratified sub-sample, extend the ...

A Note on the Calculation of Adjusted Profile Likelihood

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1993
SUMMARY An adjustment to the profile likelihood examined by Cox and Reid required orthogonalization of the nuisance parameters with respect to the parameter of interest. An approximation to the adjusted profile likelihood not requiring explicit orthogonalization is derived and exemplified.

Measuring Risk Likelihood in Cybersecurity

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Cybersecurity risk is commonly expressed through impact and likelihood, yet likelihood remains difficult to estimate because cyber incidents are underreported, heterogeneous datasets are weakly comparable, and attacker behavior changes faster than ...

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

A Nonparametric Bayesian Approach to the Rare Type Match Problem

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
The “rare type match problem” is the situation in which, in a criminal case, the suspect’s DNA profile, matching the DNA profile of the crime stain, is not in the database of reference.
