Degradation of alumina and zirconia toughened alumina (ZTA) hip prostheses tested under microseparation conditions in a shock device

open access: yes, 2013
This paper considers the degradation of alumina and zirconia toughened alumina vs. alumina for hip implants. The materials are as assumed to be load bearing surfaces subjected to shocks in wet conditions.

Surface profilometry with composite interferometer

open access: yesOptics Express, 2007
We proposed and demonstrated a low-cost optical system for surface profilometry with nanometer-resolution. The system is based on a composite interferometer consisting of a Michelson interferometer and a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. With the proposed phase compensating mechanism, the phase deviation due to the instability of the optical delay system ...

One shot profilometry using iterative two-step temporal phase-unwrapping

open access: yes, 2016
This paper reviews two techniques that have been recently published for 3D profilometry and proposes one shot profilometry using iterative two-step temporal phase-unwrapping by combining the composite fringe projection and the iterative two-step temporal

Architecture of an All‐In‐One Microfluidic Platform for Accelerated Cancer Seeding, Enhanced Spheroid Formation, and Dynamic Drug Screening Trials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one microfluidic platform consists of two‐layered PDMS channels integrated with a hydrogel microwell array. This platform enables flow‐driven tumor cell capture, enhanced spheroid formation within the microwells, and advective drug testing. ABSTRACT Effective cancer drug screening requires platforms that replicate the physiological complexity

Recyclable and Binder‐Free EGaIn–Carbon Liquid Metal Composite: A Sustainable Approach for High‐Performance Stretchable Electronics, Thermal‐Interfacing and EMI‐Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Binder‐free EGaIn–CB composite deliver printable, recyclable liquid‐metal conductors without sintering or polymer binders. Only 1.5 wt% CB yields shear‐thinning, high‐viscosity rheology, ∼60% bulk EGaIn conductivity, robust stretchability, high thermal conductivity, and strong EMI shielding (35 → 70 dB at 100% strain).
