Optical micro-profilometry for archaeology
SPIE Proceedings, 2005A quantitative morphological analysis of archaeological objects represents an important element for historical evaluations, artistic studies and conservation projects. At present, a variety of contact instruments for high-resolution surface survey is available on the market, but because of their invasivity they are not well received in the field of ...

Two-dimensional phase-measuring profilometry
Applied Optics, 2005An improved method is proposed to perform contouring of an object based on phase-measuring profilometry with a grid grating. Two phases unwrapped in perpendicular directions are obtained with the help of an adaptive bandpass filter and are used to unwrap the phases and to appoint the edge points of a shaded area and the object area.

Urethral pressure profilometry in mares
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1987Summary A technique was developed for recording urethral pressure profiles (upp) in mares. Profiles were obtained from 12 clinically normal mares and from 3 mares with urinary incontinence. Variables measured on the profile included intravesicular pressure and maximal urethral closure pressure.

Optical reference profilometry
Optical Engineering, 2001The optical reference profilometer is a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) configuration that utilizes a special optical referencing frame to provide a stable and accurate surface measurement. This referencing frame provides several mechanical advantages that make it possible to use lower precision mechanical components while still maintaining high ...

Optical Profilometry of Nail Dystrophies
Dermatology, 1995Optical profilometry after nail shadowing is introduced as a new technique to quantify nail surface alterations. Objective evaluations can be performed in vivo as well as on nail clippings and silicone rubber replicas. Trachyonychia, pittings, grooves and any other type of onychodystrophy are conveniently defined by 3 profilometric parameters: the mean

Adaptive Profilometry for Industrial Applications
1993In this chapter a review of optical profilometry techniques is presented. Particular emphasis is given to industrial applications of these methods, especially their system adaptiveness. The main features of an optical adaptive profilometer, which makes use of a Liquid Crystal projector, are presented.

Dimensional Optical Metrology and Inspection for Practical Applications VIII, 2019
Three-dimensional (3D) shape measurement methods based on fringe analysis could achieve high resolution and high accuracy. Fourier transform profilometry (FTP) uses a single fringe pattern is sufficient to recover the carrier phase for 3D shape measurement. Basically, FTP method applies Fourier transform to a fringe image and extracts the desired phase
