Economics Letters, 1990Abstract This paper considers the employment and labour utilisation responses of a firm shifting from a conventional to a profit sharing compensation system. The standard Weitzman model is extended to incorporate both extensive and intensive labour margins.

Does profit sharing increase firms’ profits?
Journal of Labor Research, 1998Although there is ample evidence that profit-sharing plans increase productivity, little is known about how such plans affect profitability. Using a data set of 198 U. S. firms, I examined the relationship between profit sharing and profits. Results suggest that profit sharing has a significant effect on profits in a single-equation setting.
