THE APPLICATION OF MODERN TOOLS OF PREINVESTMENT ANALYSIS

open access: yesВестник университета, 2019
The stability and financial return on investment projects of the domestic oil industry is influenced by many factors: the dynamics of the key rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, foreign and national currency rates, as well as the ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

How phagocytic cells kill bacteria: Lessons from a professional killer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
How phagocytic cells ingest and kill bacteria has been studied for more than a century, but many questions remain unanswered. The study of the amoeba Dictyostelium discoideum brings new answers, and new questions. Professional phagocytic cells such as neutrophils and macrophages, as well as free‐living soil amoebae like Dictyostelium discoideum, employ

Are Options on Index Futures Profitable for Risk Averse Investors? Empirical Evidence [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2010
ABSTRACTAmerican options on the S&P 500 index futures that violate the stochastic dominance bounds of Constantinides and Perrakis (2009) from 1983 to 2006 are identified as potentially profitable trades. Call bid prices more frequently violate their upper bound than put bid prices do, while violations of the lower bounds by ask prices are ...

Treatment with KCL‐286, a first‐in‐class retinoic acid receptor‐β (RARβ) agonist, ameliorates neuronal DNA damage and inflammation in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Repair of neuronal DNA damage in Alzheimer's disease by KCL‐286. (A) Amyloid‐β oligomers and plaques impair neuronal DNA repair pathways, leading to DNA double‐strand breaks and glial activation. (B) KCL‐286 activates RARβ/RXR signalling via retinoic acid response elements (RAREs), associated with increased BRCA1 expression, enhanced DNA repair and ...

ECONOMIC VIABILITY OF CORN CROP AS FUNCTION OF DOSES, FORMS AND APPLICATION TIMES OF NITROGEN IN BRAZILIAN SAVANNAH

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2019
Alternatives to reduce losses of nitrogen (N) in the soil, increasing the use of the plant nutrient efficiency are important depending on N dynamics in the soil, to increase their use and achieve high yields economically profitable.
