Healthy preterm newborns: Altered innate immunity and impaired monocyte function

By investigating innate immune features, we observe notable disparities in proportions and functional capabilities of monocytes between preterm and full‐term infants. Preterm infants present a restricted ability to trigger pro‐inflammatory immune responses.
