Rotenoids from the Roots of Vicia faba L. (Fabaceae): Structural Characterization, Cytotoxic Effects, and Molecular Docking

ABSTRACT The chemical study of the ethanolic extract from the roots of Vicia faba led to the isolation of two isoflavonoids, alfalone and 8‐O‐methylretusine, as well as a mixture of rotenoids, including clitoriacetal and clitoriacetal B, the latter of which is reported for the first time.

Synthesis of 2‐Substituted Adenosine Triphosphate Derivatives and their use in Enzymatic Synthesis and Postsynthetic Labelling of RNA

A series of 2‐substituted adenosine 5′‐O‐triphosphate derivatives is synthesized and tested as substrates for polymerases. In vitro transcription with T7 RNA polymerase, primer extension with engineered DNA polymerases, or 3′‐labelling with poly(A) polymerase are used for enzymatic synthesis of base‐modified RNA.

Improving the Efficiency of a Bioreactor Equipped With Mixed‐Flow Impellers

The present work investigated the biological performance of mixed‐flow impellers. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first experimental study on such impellers in a fermentation process using A. vinelandii, which was chosen as a microorganism due to its high oxygen demand.

A variety of organic carbonates have been catalytically reduced by the Schwartz reagent Cp2Zr(H)Cl in presence of the reductant MeSi(OMe)2H to the corresponding sylilated diol derivatives in excellent yield and selectivity. The method can be transposed to the depolymerisation of pure polycarbonates or derived from household wastes.

A Linear {FeIII2NiII} Cluster, a Structurally Closely Related Quasi 1D {FeIII2NiII} Chain

The synthesis, characterization, and magnetic properties of two closely related heterometallic {FeIII2NiII} species are reported, upon employment of suitable amino acid Schiff‐base ligands; a discrete {FeIII2NiII} trimetallic cluster and a {FeIII2NiΙΙ}n chain.
