On solving fully fuzzy multi-criteria De Novo programming via fuzzy goal programming approach

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research on Industrial Engineering, 2018
In this paper, a Multi-Criteria De Novo Linear Programming (F- MDNLP) problem has been developed under consideration of the ambiguity of parameters. These fuzzy parameters are characterized by fuzzy numbers.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

The desktop interface in intelligent tutoring systems [PDF]

open access: yes
The interface between an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) and the person being tutored is critical to the success of the learning process. If the interface to the ITS is confusing or non-supportive of the tutored domain, the effectiveness of the ...

Thinking as mental model-building: a Piagetian-cum-mechanistic explanation of the 'engram' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Piaget (like Skinner) appears to deny the relevance or possibility of describing thought in mechanistic terms. Nevertheless, this paper attempts to outline one way in which this might be done for Piaget's concepts.

Complete logic programs with domain-closure axiom

open access: yesThe Journal of Logic Programming, 1988
Summary: Complete logic programs augmented with the domain-closure axiom are proposed as the reference theory for logic programming with negation as failure. An inference rule corresponding to ``proof by case analysis'' is proved correct within this framework.

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Electricity Customer Clustering Following Experts’ Principle for Demand Response Applications

open access: yesEnergies, 2015
The clustering of electricity customers might have an effective meaning if, and only if, it is verified by domain experts. Most of the previous studies on customer clustering, however, do not consider real applications, but only the structure of clusters.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Investigation on Evolutionary Synthesis of Movement Commands

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering, 2009
This paper deals with usage of an alternative tool for symbolic regression—analytic programming which is able to solve various problems from the symbolic domain, as well as genetic programming and grammatical evolution.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
