A paradigm for programming style research
ACM SIGPLAN Notices, 1988Programming style guidelines and automated coding style analyzers have been developed without a solid experimental or theoretical basis. In this paper we make a distinction between typographic style characteristics and underlying structural style content and show that this distinction aids in assessing the influence of style factors.

“Paradigms of AI Programming” in Python
Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2013Norvig’s (1992) Paradigms of AI Programming is an important book for learning about AI programming. However, the book uses Common Lisp as the programming language, which is less popular now than in 1992. Thus, we have translated many classical AI programs described in the book into Python, a more commonly used language.

A New Programming Paradigm for GPGPU
2012Graphics Processing units (GPU) have become a valuable support for High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. However, despite the many improvements of General Purpose GPUs, the current programming paradigms available, such as NVIDIA's CUDA, are still low-level and require strong programming effort, especially for irregular applications where ...

Architectural Design, 2014
How might we synthesise two very different approaches in architecture? One based on programme and another on typology or paradigm. Pablo Miranda Carranza, a researcher at the Architecture School at the RoyalInstitute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, takes his cue from an approach suggested by Colin Rowe in the early 1980s to examine how computation ...

Non-programmed Versus Programmed Aging Paradigm
Current Aging Science, 2015There are two opposite paradigms to explain aging, here precisely defined as "age-related progressive mortality increase, i.e. fitness decline, in the wild". The first maintains that natural selection is unable to maintain fitness as age increases.

Paradigms for parallel dynamic programming
Proceedings of EUROMICRO 96. 22nd Euromicro Conference. Beyond 2000: Hardware and Software Design Strategies, 2002We extend the sequential model for dynamic programming to a parallel model. We propose three general parallel dynamic programming algorithms for pipeline and ring networks for multistage automatons. The study of the optimality lead us to the introduction of two new classes of multistage automatons: nondecreasing automatons and strongly increasing ...

Compiling for the Molen Programming Paradigm
2003In this paper we present compiler extensions for the Molen programming paradigm, which is a sequential consistency paradigm for programming custom computing machines (CCM). The compiler supports instruction set extensions and register file extensions. Based on pragma annotations in the application code, it identifies the code fragments implemented on ...

Programming Languages: Principles and Paradigms
2010The book provides a detailed and up to date description of the main principles behind the design and implementation of modern programming languages. Rather than focusing on a specific language, the book identifies the most important principles shared by large classes of languages.

Ontology paradigm of programming
Automatic Documentation and Mathematical Linguistics, 2013A new programming paradigm, an ontologic one, which is a developed paradigm of declarative programming, is described, as well as the data model the paradigm is based on and major language structures supported by examples.
