Polar square projection for panoramic video
2017 IEEE Visual Communications and Image Processing (VCIP), 2017Panoramic video provides an immersive experience by presenting a 360° spherical video content. Due to the limitations of coding and storage technology, the spherical panoramic video needs to be projected onto the two-dimensional plane for storage and encoding. In this paper, we propose a polar square projection scheme.

Maximum Mean Square Projection Filters
SPIE Proceedings, 1990The maximum mean square projection (MMSP) filter is proposed for distortion invariant recognition. It classifies images according to the energy projected onto an N-dimensional subspace. The MMSP filter is implemented in an updatable optical correlator where correlations from multiple filters are time integrated on the output detector array.

Partners in collaboration: The homan square project
Journal of Professional Nursing, 1998The Homan Square Project, a collaborative community development effort, exemplifies the World Health Organization's model for cities. This article describes the implementation of a health care component--a joint venture between the College of Nursing at Rush University and Rush Primary Care Institute of the Rush System for Health--in partnership with ...

Projections, Pseudoinverses and Least Squares
2011The farmers would say that we are fast approaching the harvest season. We wouldn’t want to disillusion them and so we will begin (in this section) to harvest some of the fruit generated by the work of the previous sections. In particular we will discover how to solve, in various ways, a very important problem which goes by the name of the problem of ...

7 Hanover Square Archaeological Data Project
2023This project involves data from a single archaeological legacy project, the 7 Hanover Square Collection, housed with the NYC Archaeological Repository: The Nan A. Rothschild Research Center. This collection is comprised of materials collected from a large-scale city block excavation from Lower Manhattan conducted in 1981 and consists of approximately ...

Projected Kernel Recursive Least Squares Algorithm
2017In this paper, a novel sparse kernel recursive least squares algorithm, namely the Projected Kernel Recursive Least Squares (PKRLS) algorithm, is proposed. In PKRLS, a simple online vector projection (VP) method is used to represent the similarity between the current input and the dictionary in a feature space.
