Project, Projecting, Projection
On 30 November 2021, the doctoral researchers of the Doctoral School 31 Practices and Theories of Meaning of the University of Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis organised a study day on the theme "Project, Projecting, Projection". This book gathers seven articles resulting from these academic exchanges, gathered in order to offer an inter- and ...

Quantitative analysis and mathematic modeling of the global outbreak of COVID-19
The coronavirus pandemic is the biggest in the past 100 years, affected over 200 countries and killed over 300 thousand people. To better understand the epidemics in different areas, the progress percentage was generated in this study by dividing ...

Study on Gamma Spectrum Stabilization Method for SiPM-GAGG(Ce) Detector
Silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) is a new type of photoelectric conversion device with high gain and low power consumption since the 21st century. It consists of thousands of single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) operating in Geiger mode connected in ...

Projective Measure Without Projective Baire
We prove that it is consistent (relative to a Mahlo cardinal) that all projective sets of reals are Lebesgue measurable, but there is a $Δ^1_3$ set without the Baire property. The complexity of the set which provides a counterexample to the Baire property is optimal.

DOA Estimation for Highly Correlated and Coherent Multipath Signals with Ultralow SNRs
In a typical multipath propagation environment, there exists a strong direct path signal accompanying with several weak multipath signals. Due to the strong direct path interference and other masking effects, the Direction-of-Arrival (DOA) of a weak ...

Comments on orientifold projection in the conifold and SO x USp duality cascade [PDF]
We study the O3-plane in the conifold. On the D3-brane world-volume we obtain SO x USp gauge theory that exhibits a duality cascade phenomenon. The orientifold projection is determined on the type IIB string side, and corresponds to that of O4-plane on ...

Renormalization techniques for quantum spin systems. Ground-state energies [PDF]
Projection of the Hamiltonian of an antiferromagnetic lattice of spins , without external fields, onto a subspace of the total spinor space gives an approximation for the lowest eigenvalue of this Hamiltonian.

Two-spinor description of massive particles and relativistic spin projection operators
On the basis of the Wigner unitary representations of the covering group ISL(2,C) of the Poincar\'{e} group, we obtain spin-tensor wave functions of free massive particles with arbitrary spin.

Constructing Fewer Open Cells by GCD Computation in CAD Projection
A new projection operator based on cylindrical algebraic decomposition (CAD) is proposed. The new operator computes the intersection of projection factor sets produced by different CAD projection orders.
