Data stream management systems (DSMS) so far focus on event queries and hardly consider combined queries to both data from event streams and from a database.

Manipulation of expressions in a relational algebra [PDF]
This paper describes a syntax for expressions based on the relational algebra. A tree representation is generated when an expression is analyzed. Transformations on the tree representations of expressions are applied in order to obtain improvements with ...

On tractability and congruence distributivity [PDF]
Constraint languages that arise from finite algebras have recently been the object of study, especially in connection with the Dichotomy Conjecture of Feder and Vardi.

Projective resolutions over Artin algebras with zero relations
One proves that gl.dim \(A\leq n+1\) for finite dimensional algebras over a field K whose ordinary quiver is a tree and a minimal set of relations has cardinality n. Using covering techniques one shows also that, for a finite dimensional zero relations K-algebra B with m minimal relations, \(gl.\dim B=\infty\) or \(gl.\dim B\leq m^ 2+2.\)

Relations and trails in lattices of projections in W*-algebras [PDF]
AbstractThis paper concernsHH-relations in the latticesP(M) of all projections of W*-algebrasM. IfMis a finite algebra, all these relations are generated by trails inP(M). IfMis an infinite countably decomposable factor, they are either generated by trails or associated with them.

A non-integrated hypersurface defect relation for meromorphic maps over complete Kähler manifolds into projective algebraic varieties [PDF]
In this paper, a non-integrated defect relation for meromorphic maps from complete K hler manifolds $M$ into smooth projective algebraic varieties $V$ intersecting hypersurfaces located in $k$-subgeneral position is proved. The novelty of this result lies in that both the upper bound and the truncation level of our defect relation depend only on $k$, $

Computing Multi-Relational Sufficient Statistics for Large Databases [PDF]
Databases contain information about which relationships do and do not hold among entities. To make this information accessible for statistical analysis requires computing sufficient statistics that combine information from different database tables. Such

Deformation of the Okubic Albert algebra and its relation to the Okubic affine and projective planes
We present a deformation of the Okubic Albert algebra introduced by Elduque whose rank-1 idempotent elements are in biunivocal correspondence with points of the Okubic projective plane, thus extending to Okubic algebras the correspondence found by Jordan, Von Neumann, Wigner between the octonionic projective plane and the rank-3 Exceptional Jordan ...

Galois theory for semiclones [PDF]
We present a Galois theory connecting finitary operations with pairs of finitary relations one of which is contained in the other. The Galois closed sets on both sides are characterised as locally closed subuniverses of the full iterative function ...

Provenance for Aggregate Queries [PDF]
We study in this paper provenance information for queries with aggregation. Provenance information was studied in the context of various query languages that do not allow for aggregation, and recent work has suggested to capture provenance by annotating ...
