Weyl quadratic gravity as a gauge theory and non-metricity vs torsion duality
We review (non-supersymmetric) gauge theories of four-dimensional space-time symmetries and their quadratic action. The only true gauge theory of such a symmetry (with a physical gauge boson) that has an exact geometric interpretation, generates Einstein

Measurement of CT radiation beam width with a pencil ionization chamber and radiopaque mask
Abstract Purpose This study compares fan beam CT scanner radiation beam widths measured with a pencil ionization chamber‐radiopaque mask technique with commonly used film and computed radiography (CR) measurements. Methods For a given fan beam CT scanner x‐ray beam, the ionization chamber‐mask technique determines the radiation beam width by exposing a

Differential geometry of submanifolds of projective space [PDF]
These are lecture notes on the rigidity of submanifolds of projective space "resembling" compact Hermitian symmetric spaces in their homogeneous embeddings. Recent results are surveyed, along with their classical predecessors. The notes include an introduction to moving frames in projective geometry, an exposition of the Hwang-Yamaguchi ridgidity ...

Abstract Background To quantify beam optimization for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) of peripheral lung lesions. Method The new beam optimization approach was based on maximizing the therapeutic gain (TG) of the beam set by minimizing the average physical depth of the lesion with respect to the beam's eye view (BEV).

Fujiki relation on symplectic varieties [PDF]
We generalize Fujiki relation of Beauville-Bogomolov quadratic form on a projective symplectic variety. As an application, we study a fibre space structure of a projective symplectic variety.

On the projective Ricci curvature [PDF]
The notion of the Ricci curvature is defined for sprays on a manifold. With a volume form on a manifold, every spray can be deformed to a projective spray. The Ricci curvature of a projective spray is called the projective Ricci curvature. In this paper, we introduce the notion of projectively Ricci-flat sprays.

Abstract Background The dose‐averaged linear energy transfer (LETD) in proton therapy (PT) has in pre‐clinical studies been linked to the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of protons. Until recently, the most common PT delivery method in prostate cancer has been double‐scattered PT, with LETD only available through dedicated Monte Carlo (MC ...

On abelian families and holomorphic normal projective connections [PDF]
We prove Chern class equalities for abelian families with a holomorphic normal projective connection.

Abstract Objective To develop and validate a HyperArc‐based RapidPlan (HARP) model for three‐fraction brain stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) plans to then use to replan previously treated five‐fraction SRT plans. Demonstrating the possibility of reducing the number of fractions while achieving acceptable organs‐at‐risk (OAR) doses with improved target ...
