Elementary Surprises in Projective Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We discuss eight new(?) configuration theorems of classical projective geometry in the spirit of the Pappus and Pascal theorems.

Characterization of a prototype rapid kilovoltage x‐ray image guidance system designed for a linear accelerator radiation therapy unit

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates a novel cone‐beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging solution integrated onto a conventional C‐arm linear accelerator (linac) with increased gantry speed. The purpose is to assess the impact of improved imaging hardware and reconstruction algorithms on image quality.

(Semi-)Riemannian geometry of (para-)octonionic projective planes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
We use reduced homogeneous coordinates to study Riemannian geometry of the octonionic (or Cayley) projective plane. Our method extends to the para-octonionic (or split octonionic) projective plane, the octonionic projective plane of indefinite signature, and the hyperbolic dual of the octonionic projective plane; we discuss these manifolds in the later

Effects of simultaneous multislice acceleration on the stability of radiomics features in parametric maps of IVIM and DKI in uterine cervical cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the simultaneous multislice acceleration (SMS) technique as well as two‐dimensional (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) tumor segmentations on radiomics features (RFs) within the parametric maps of cervical cancer, which were computed by intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and ...

On manifolds with holomorphic normal projective connections [PDF]

open access: yesMath. Ann. 329 (2004), 379-400, 2002
The authors give a complete classification of projective threefolds admitting a holomorphic normal projective connection. Moreover, they prove a general structure theorem on complex projective manifolds admitting a holomorphic normal projective connection, saying in particular, that any such manifold is either the projective space or minimal in the ...

Geometric and dosimetric evaluation of a commercial AI auto‐contouring tool on multiple anatomical sites in CT scans

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Current radiotherapy practices rely on manual contouring of CT scans, which is time‐consuming, prone to variability, and requires highly trained experts. There is a need for more efficient and consistent contouring methods. This study evaluated the performance of the Varian Ethos AI auto‐contouring tool to assess its potential integration into

All regulators of flat bundles are torsion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1994
I prove the Bloch conjecture:all secondary characteristic classes of flat bundles over complex projective varietes are torsion, except the first.

Differential geometry of complex projective space curves

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1983
We give explicit formulas for the Gaussian curvature and other differential geometric functions of a holomorphic curve in complex projective space. It is proved that the curve is uniquely determined by these functions up to an isometry of the ambient space.
