Analysis and Projective Geometry [PDF]
FEW branches of elementary mathematics have escaped reform in recent years; algebra, trigonometry, elementary geometry, statics, and the calculus have all been transformed to suit the practical needs of the time. But amid all this change, there have been few attempts to alter the methods employed in introducing students to the geometry of the conic. Dr.

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

The contrast transfer function (CTF) is an imaging aberration that is a major resolution‐limiting factor in cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Precise CTF estimation is key to overcoming this limitation, but is particularly challenging in cryo‐electron tomography (cryo‐ET) data. Here, we present an approach for using geometric information to assist in

Infinitesimal Transformations of Riemannian Manifolds—The Geometric Dynamics Point of View
In the present paper, we study the geometry of infinitesimal conformal, affine, projective, and harmonic transformations of complete Riemannian manifolds using the concepts of geometric dynamics and the methods of the modern version of the Bochner ...

Can we make a Finsler metric complete by a trivial projective change?
A trivial projective change of a Finsler metric $F$ is the Finsler metric $F + df$. I explain when it is possible to make a given Finsler metric both forward and backward complete by a trivial projective change.

Abstract Purpose Stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) is a highly effective treatment with precision for small, localized lesions. Proton therapy, characterized by the Bragg peak, offers superior dose conformity compared to photon‐based approaches. However, challenges remain in minimizing lateral penumbra and optimizing dose delivery, particularly for small

Localization accuracy of 6‐second CBCT for lung IGRT with various breathing patterns
Abstract Purpose The 6‐second cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) acquisition of the Ethos HyperSight (Varian Medical Systems, Inc. Palo Alto, CA, USA) on‐board imaging system offers benefits, but could be too fast to accurately capture an average target position in a free‐breathing lung cancer patient. This study aimed to ascertain whether a 6‐second
