3D anatomical atlas of the heads of male and female adult Chamaeleo calyptratus
The veiled chameleon is a model organism in reptile development research. Utilizing contrast‐enhanced microCT and deep learning segmentation models, we have generated the first digital atlases of the skull, nervous system, cranial muscles and hyolingual muscles.

Time‐traveling larvae ensure survival in small, synchronously fluctuating populations
Population structure is an important aspect of patchily distributed organisms. Small local populations, large temporal fluctuations, synchronized dynamics, and low migration rates should all lead to lowered rates of patch occupancy and increased ...

Temperature affects the use of storage fatty acids as energy source in a benthic copepod (Platychelipus littoralis, Harpacticoida) [PDF]
The utilization of storage lipids and their associated fatty acids (FA) is an important means for organisms to cope with periods of food shortage, however, little is known about the dynamics and FA mobilization in benthic copepods (order Harpacticoida ...

ABSTRACT Tick‐borne filarial nematodes are a complex and understudied group of parasites that rely on ticks for transmission in vertebrates. This review examines how intrinsic and extrinsic factors may influence the successful transmission of filarial nematodes in tick vectors, drawing insights from extensively studied haematophagous dipteran vector ...

Phenology-dependent cold exposure and thermal performance of Ostrinia nubilalis ecotypes
Background Understanding adaptation involves establishing connections between selective agents and beneficial population responses. However, relatively little attention has been paid to seasonal adaptation, in part, because it requires complex and ...

A roadmap to key traits of invasive Drosophilidae
ABSTRACT Biological invasions have intensified in recent decades, mostly driven by international trade and travel, raising significant concerns, particularly regarding insect pests. Once non‐native species establish, they can disrupt natural ecosystem stability, undermine agroecosystem sustainability and cause substantial economic losses.

Abstract The difficulty of sampling zooplankton communities in situ has driven advancements in autonomous, remote sensing technology. The goal of this paper was to perform a gear comparison study testing the performance of one such piece of technology—a glider‐mounted four‐frequency echosounder—against traditional shipboard methods of measuring ...
