A fundamental mucus cleaning mechanism is reported, which utilizes both artificial cilia mechanical sweeping and suction‐based mucus cleaning. A novel haptic feedback interface for the artificial cilia provides touch feedback on tissue contact, enhancing operator control and safety.

Prolonged Intubation: An Alternative to Tracheosto my in Infants [PDF]
In 12 patients, ranging in age from newborn to 4 years, endotracheal intubation has been used as a substitute for tracheostomy. Using plastic tubes it was possible to maintain a good airway for periods of up to 7 weeks. Painstaking care was necessary to prevent the tubes becoming blocked or malpositioned. The tubes were tolerated well.

ABSTRACT Cytosolic phosphoenoylpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK‐C) is an essential, rate‐limiting enzyme in the gluconeogenesis pathway. PEPCK‐C deficiency presents with hypoglycaemia, hyperlactataemia and hepatopathy, and was first reported in association with bi‐allelic PCK1 variants in 2014.
