Safety of Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Evaluation and Perspective from Component Materials to Cells, Modules, and Packs

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides a bottom‐up evaluation of sodium‐ion battery safety, linking material degradation mechanisms, cell engineering parameters, and module/pack assembly. It emphasizes that understanding intrinsic material stability and establishing coordinated engineering control across hierarchical levels are vital for preventing degradation coupling ...

Prone position in the mechanical ventilation of acute respiratory distress syndrome children: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
BackgroundProne position has been well recognized for the treatment of adult acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). We aimed to evaluate the role of prone position in the mechanical ventilation in children with ARDS, to provide evidence to the ...

Critically Ill Patients with COVID-19: A Narrative Review on Prone Position

open access: yesPulmonary Therapy, 2020
Introduction Prone position is known to improve mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The impact of prone position in critically ill patients with coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) remains to be determined.

Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer: Current Evidence and Future Perspectives

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Esophageal cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy with regional variations in histological subtypes. Adenocarcinoma predominates in Western countries, whereas squamous cell carcinoma is more common in Asia. Despite advances in multimodal therapy, esophagectomy remains the cornerstone of curative treatment, and the development of various ...

The effects of prone and supine positions on the regional distribution of ventilation in infants and children using electrical impedance tomography

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Physiotherapy, 2015
Background: Positioning of ill children is often used to optimise ventilation–perfusion matching, thereby improving oxygenation. Objectives: To determine the effects of supine and prone positions, and different head positions, on the distribution of ...

A Soft‐Tip Hydraulically Steerable Catheter for Enhanced Flexibility and Safety in Vascular Interventions

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a hydraulically steerable catheter with a soft tip in vascular procedures. The steering soft tip achieves a minimal diameter of 2.6 mm and supports a 180° bend. Real‐time shape and position tracking, facilitated by segmentation and endpoint detection techniques, improves navigation.

Neonatal Respiration Monitoring System with Synchronized Oxygen Supply and Machine Learning‐Based Breathing Classification

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The study presents a low‐cost, noninvasive system for real‐time neonatal respiratory monitoring. A flexible, screen‐printed sensor patch captures chest movements with high sensitivity and minimal drift. Combined with machine learning, the system accurately detects breathing patterns and offers a practical solution for neonatal care in low‐resource ...
