Simple Proofs of Sequential Work

2018
At ITCS 2013, Mahmoody, Moran and Vadhan [MMV13] introduce and construct publicly verifiable proofs of sequential work, which is a protocol for proving that one spent sequential computational work related to some statement. The original motivation for such proofs included non-interactive time-stamping and universally verifiable CPU benchmarks.

Reversible Proofs of Sequential Work

2019
Proofs of sequential work (PoSW) are proof systems where a prover, upon receiving a statement \(\chi \) and a time parameter T computes a proof \(\phi (\chi ,T)\) which is efficiently and publicly verifiable. The proof can be computed in T sequential steps, but not much less, even by a malicious party having large parallelism.

Proof-of-Participation: Implementation of Proof-of-Stake Through Proof-of-Work

2018
A new protocol for consensus in blockchain is proposed that builds upon the Proof-of-Stake by implementing it with Proof-of-Work mining architecture. The Proof-of-Participation protocol improves security and significantly reduces the computational resources needed to maintain the strict level of security.
