Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

A numerical investigation of constant-volume non-Boussinesq density currents [PDF]
The time-dependent behaviour of non-Boussinesq high-Reynolds-number density currents of density ρc, released from a lock of height h₀ and length x₀ into a ambient of height H and density ρₐ, is considered. We use two dimensional Navier-Stokes simulations

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

The effect of the gravitational constant variation on the propagation of gravitational waves
Since the first detection of gravitational waves, they have been used to investigate various fundamental problems, including the variation of physical constants.

Generalized Constant Propagation a study in C [PDF]
Generalized Constant Propagation (GCP) statically estimates the ranges of variables throughout a program. GCP is a top-down compositional compiler analysis in the style of abstract intepretation. In this paper we present an implementation of both intraprocedural and interprocedural GCP within the context of the C language.

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Characterizing the variation of propagation constants in multicore fiber
We demonstrate a numerical technique that can evaluate the core-to-core variations in propagation constant in multicore fibre. Using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo process, we replicate the interference patterns of light that has coupled between the cores during propagation.

Flow-Sensitive Interprocedural Constant Propagation
We present a flow-sensitive interprocedural constant propagation algorithm, which supports recursion while only performing one flow-sensitive analysis of each procedure. We present experimental results which show that this method finds substantially more

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
