Quantifying sources of methane using light alkanes in the Los Angeles basin, California [PDF]
Methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and C2-C5 alkanes were measured throughout the Los Angeles (L.A.) basin in May and June 2010. We use these data to show that the emission ratios of CH4/CO and CH4/CO2 in the L.A. basin are larger

A study of condensation of propane-1,3Diamine with formaldehyde [PDF]
The condensation of formaldehyde with propane-1,3-diamine gave four products depending on the conditions of the reaction of them dimer, trimer, tetramer and pentamer of N,N΄-bis(methylene)propane-1,3-diamine products (CH2=NCH2CH2CH2N=CH2).

Planar Detonation Wave Initiation in Large-Aspect-Ratio Channels [PDF]
In this study, two initiator designs are presented that are able to form planar detonations with low input energy in large-aspect-ratio channels over distances corresponding to only a few channel heights. The initiators use a single spark and an array of

Kinetics of Propane Hydrate Formation in Agitated Reactor: A Mass Transfer Approach [PDF]
Understanding the kinetics of gas hydrate formation is essential to model and predict the hydrate formation (or dissociation) process. In the present paper, we investigated the formation of pure propane gas hydrate as a former gas.

A composite oxides’ Co-Mn-Ce catalyst was synthesized by a coprecipitation method, and the experiment was carried out to study the effects of reaction parameters and light hydrothermal aging on propane combustion over the Co-Mn-Ce catalyst. The influence

Ethylene Production from Propanal [PDF]
Tracer studies using a model system consisting of Cu(2+) and ascorbate indicate that carbons 2 and 3 of propanal are converted to ethylene, and carbon 1 is converted to formic acid and CO(2). A mechanism accounting for this reaction is described. In apple tissue, methionine but not propanal is readily incorporated into ethylene.

In Vivo Evolution of Butane Oxidation by Terminal Alkane Hydroxylases AlkB and CYP153A6 [PDF]
Enzymes of the AlkB and CYP153 families catalyze the first step in the catabolism of medium-chain-length alkanes, selective oxidation of the alkane to the 1-alkanol, and enable their host organisms to utilize alkanes as carbon sources.

Dynamic Phase Diagram of Catalytic Surface of Hexagonal Boron Nitride under Conditions of Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane. [PDF]
Partially oxidized surfaces of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and several metal borides are unexpectedly excellent catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation of alkanes to olefins, but the nature of the active site(s) on these B-containing interfaces remains

Advancements of MOFs in the Field of Propane Oxidative Dehydrogenation for Propylene Production
Compared to the currently widely used propane dehydrogenation process for propylene production, propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODHP) offers the advantage of no thermodynamic limitations and lower energy consumption. However, a major challenge in ODHP
