Total pressure measurements for 1-propanol + 1-pentanol, 1-propanol + 2-pentanol, 2-propanol + 1-pentanol, and 2-propanol + 2-pentanol at 313.15 K

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1997
Abstract Total pressure measurements at 313.15 K are reported for 1-propanol + 1-pentanol, 1-propanol + 2-pentanol, 2-propanol + 1-pentanol, and 2-propanol + 2-pentanol. The results were obtained using a Van Ness apparatus and were fitted to the three-suffix Margules equation using Barker's method.

Ruthenium(VI) in the oxidation of 2-propanol and 1-propanol: A kinetic study

Transition Metal Chemistry, 1992
Sodium ruthenate catalyses the oxidation of 2-propanol by hexacyanoferrate(III) ([Fe(CN)6]3−), diperiodato-cuprate(III) (DPC), periodate $ (IO_{4}^{-}) $ and chloramine-T (CAT) in aqueous alkali. Except when CAT was used as an oxidant, the reactions were first order with respect to [RuVI] and zero order in [oxidant].

Interaction of 1-Propanol and 2-Propanol with Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine Bilayer: A Calorimetric Study

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2009
Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was employed to study the effects of 1-propanol and 2-propanol on the thermotropic behavior of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) bilayer membranes. The biphasic effect was observed in both systems based on an abrupt reversal in trend of the gel-to-liquid crystalline main transition temperatures upon heating ...

An experimental and kinetic modeling study of n-propanol and iso-propanol combustion

Combustion and Flame, 2010
A kinetic model is developed to describe combustion of n-propanol and iso-propanol. It is validated by comparing predictions made using this kinetic model with new experimental data on structures of counterflow non-premixed flames and previously reported data over a wide range of configurations and conditions.

The Reactions of 1-Propanol and 2-Propanol with Oxygen Atoms

1977
The reaction of O atoms with l-propanol was studied at pressures of 0.16 to 0.18 Pa, in a fast flow system. O atoms were formed by the reaction of NO with N atoms produced in a microwave discharge through N₂. The temperature dependence of the rate constant over the range 308 to 425 K, gave a pre-exponential factor of (1.7 ± 0.7) x 10⁹ 1 mol⁻¹s⁻¹ and an

N-Propanol

2000
Abstract n-Propanol (1-propanol, propyl alcohol) is a colorless sol vent with a sweet, alcoholic odor; it has a vapor pressure of 14.5 mm at 20°C. While the substance has a low order of acute toxicity in animals, congenital malformations (in cluding microcephaly) are reported in the offspring of dams treated 7 h/day on days 1 and 19 ...
