Atmospheric Doping of Stretchable Polymer Semiconductors for Skin Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atmospheric doping system using oxygen molecules in air as dopants is introduced for stretchable polymer semiconductors. The chemisorbed oxygen molecules act as acceptor, lead to increase not only the hole concentration of the semiconductor film over two orders of magnitude (3.37 × 1017 cm−3) but also electrical properties of the field‐effect ...

ASSESSMENT OF THE SYNTHESIS ROUTES CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING AMMONIUM DINITRAMIDE BY THE FT-IR. DOI: 10.5028/jatm.2011.03033311

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2012
Over the last two decades, many routes have been proposed to synthesize ammonium dinitramide (ADN). However, most of them lie in routes in which reactants are too expensive for large-scale production.

Effects of Water-Vapor Propellant on Electrodeless Thruster Performance

open access: yes, 2017
The performance of an electrodeless thruster operating on water-vapor propellant is evaluated and compared to noble-gas propellants. Cross-section data for electron interactions in water vapor are employed to predict the ionization cost as a function of ...

On the combustion mechanisms of ZrH2 in double-base propellant.

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP, 2017
Metal hydrides are regarded as a series of promising hydrogen-supplying fuel for solid rocket propellants. Their effects on the energetic and combustion performances of propellants are closely related to their reaction mechanisms.

Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Hydrogels: Dynamics in the Diffusion‐Limited Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A time‐dependent continuum model is developed to capture the transient swelling dynamics of chemo‐mechanical hydrogels. By coupling chemical reactions, solvent transport, and polymer deformation, volume phase transitions, reaction kinetics, and transient mechanical instabilities are analyzed.

HYPERGOLIC SYSTEMS: A REVIEW IN PATENTS. doi: 10.5028/jatm.2012.04043812

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2012
Hypergolic reactions may be useful in civil and military applications. In the area of rocket propulsion, they constitute a potential field due to the reduced wheight and complexity of fuel injection systems, allowing yet controlled use of the propulsors.

A Universal Way to Manipulate Droplet via Light‐Fueled Thermocapillary Convection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A non‐contact light‐induced droplet manipulation strategy fueled by mid‐infrared (MIR) light irradiation is introduced. No additional additives and/or complex substrate are required. Here, thermocapillary convection, directly generated by temperature gradient at outer surface of droplet via localized surface heating, plays a key role to propel the ...

High-nitrogen azotetrazole based pyrogen gas generating propellants: Aspects on synthesis, characterization, combustion characteristics and kinetics

open access: yesFirePhysChem
Propellant formulations containing a novel high nitrogen azotetrazole salt viz., diammonium 5,5′-azotetrazolate (DAAzT) along with two different binders viz., hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) and glycidyl azide polymer (GAP) were realized as ...
