Correlation between solid propellant failure and interface debonding in solid rocket motors
In the traditional integrity analysis of solid rocket motors, solid propellants failure and propellant-liner interface debonding were intentionally differentiated. This empirical distinction of failure regions based on the macroscopic phenomenon neglects

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Hydroxy-terminated polyether binders for composite rocket propellants [PDF]
Propellants based on cross-linked Hydroxy Terminated PolyEther (HTPE) binders are being used as alternatives to Hydroxy Terminated PolyButadiene (HTPB) compositions. HTPE propellants have similar mechanical properties to HTPB propellants but they give

A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...
