A General Susceptibility‐Based Approach for Uniform Metasurface Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This work presents a general approach to characterize uniform metasurfaces in terms of susceptibilities. With this model, it is possible to obtain analytical expressions and numerical values for the specular scattering for arbitrary angle of incidence and polarization.

Identifying Beneficial and Adverse Co4+ Species in Cobalt‐Based Oxygen Evolution Catalysts via Precursor Polymorphism Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study resolves conflicting roles of Co⁴⁺ species in cobalt‐based oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts by engineering precursor polymorphism. Through controlled annealing of cobalt oxysulfide, researchers selectively stabilize γ‐CoO2 (enabling oxygen pathway mechanism) and β‐CoO2 (following conventional mechanism). γ‐CoO2 demonstrates superior

Creationism and evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In Tower of Babel, Robert Pennock wrote that “defenders of evolution would help their case immeasurably if they would reassure their audience that morality, purpose, and meaning are not lost by accepting the truth of evolution.” We first consider the ...

Pre‐Torsion Tubular Metamaterials: Multi‐Effect Integration for Advanced Functional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through a pre‐torsion design paradigm, the authors design and fabricate a class of multi‐effect mechanical metamaterial that synergistically integrates compression‐torsion and auxetic behaviors over an extensive strain range, and their formation mechanisms are quantitatively analyzed and elucidated via experiments and finite element methods.
