A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Secondary electron background produced by heavy nuclei in a multiwire proportional counter hodoscope [PDF]

open access: yes
The secondary electron background produced by heavy nuclei in a multiwire proportional counter hodoscope is calculated using both a simplified and a more complete Monte Carlo model. These results are compared with experimental data from a small multiwire

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Einstein observations of extended galactic X-ray sources [PDF]

open access: yes
Features of the X-ray pictures taken aboard the space observatory are presented. Imaging proportional counter pictures in three broad X-ray energy ranges were obtained.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Apparatus for providing a servo drive signal in a high-speed stepping interferometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
An analog voltage approximately linearly proportional to a desired offset from the present null position of a moving mirror in an interferometer is applied to the mirror moving means.

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Research on the Measurement Method of Uranium Content and Radioactive Activity in Sputtered Uranium Targets

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes
To develop an "equivalent thickness measurement technique" for non-destructive measurement of ultra-thin carbon nanotube film uranium target thickness, which can address the limitations of traditional measurement methods. The magnetron sputtering was used

K-Electron-Capture-to-Positron-Emission Ratio in the Decays of ^(15)O and ^(19)Ne [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
The K/β^+ ratio in the decays of ^(19)Ne and ^(15)O have been measured as (9.6 ± 0.3) × 10^(-4) and (10.7 ± 0.6) × 10^(-4), respectively. A gas-flow proportional counter, operating in anticoincidence with the surrounding plastic scintillator, was used ...
