Fatigue of vulcanized natural rubber under proportional and non‐proportional loading

Fatigue and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures, 2020
AbstractTwo natural rubber (NR) compounds of hardness shore A 60 and 70 with 10 different biaxial displacement/twist paths were investigated using an axisymmetric cylindrical hollow dumbbell specimen. The effects of the proportional and non‐proportional loading modes on the fatigue life are discussed. In total, 52 fatigue test results are reported with

Ductile fracture under proportional and non-proportional multiaxial loading

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 2021
Abstract This paper revisits proportional and non-proportional experiments performed earlier by the authors, with the aim to establish the fracture envelope of the material. The experiments involved inflation of thin-walled AA6260-T4 tubes under axial force and internal pressure.

Biaxial fatigue for proportional and non‐proportional loading paths

Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2004
ABSTRACTIn order to study the use of a local approach to predict crack‐initiation life on notches in mechanical components under multiaxial fatigue conditions, the study of the local cyclic elasto‐plastic behaviour and the selection of an appropriate multiaxial fatigue model are essential steps in fatigue‐life prediction. The evolution of stress–strain

Proportional loading of thick-walled cylinders

International Journal of Pressure Vessels and Piping, 2005
Abstract A generalized solution for small plastic deformation of thick-walled cylinders subjected to internal pressure and proportional axial loading is developed. The solution has been shown to reduce to the well-known Lame's elastic solution and Nadai's general plane strain solution under appropriate assumptions.
