Wearable Rehabilitation Devices Using Textile‐Integrated Triboelectric and Piezoelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
The functional landscape of textile‐integrated triboelectric and piezoelectric nanogenerators within rehabilitation systems highlights three interlinked domains: self‐powered sensing, bioelectrical stimulation, and integrated smart rehabilitation platforms.

The Next Chapter of Human‐Like Tactile Perception: Neural Decoding to Embodied Intelligence

open access: yesSmartSys, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The field of tactile perception is transitioning from phenomenological analysis to integrated application and creation. To develop intelligent and embodied tactile capabilities, it is necessary to move beyond the traditional view of touch as a passive input channel and instead understand it as an active closed‐loop computational process.

Hand‐Specific Engagement of Cerebello–Thalamo–Cortical and Higher‐Order Sensorimotor Networks in Essential Tremor: Converging Evidence From GLM and MVPA‐Based fMRI Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 6, June 2026.
Essential tremor (ET) was investigated using task‐based fMRI during right‐ and left‐hand finger‐tapping in combination with univariate GLM and searchlight MVPA. ET patients exhibited hand‐specific differences in cerebello–thalamo–cortical and higher‐order sensorimotor engagement, with reduced thalamic and right supramarginal involvement compared to ...

The Long Haul: Microtubule Motors as the Essential Supply Line for Neuronal Longevity

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 6, June 2026.
To survive a lifetime, neurons depend on a high‐fidelity logistics network powered by microtubule motors. We explore how a broad spectrum of genetic defects in this machinery drive a devastating spectrum of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases, including Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP), Charcot–Marie‐Tooth Type 2 (CMT2), and ...

Not Just Rocked, but Delighted: Rhythmic Passive Movement Induces Positive States in Chicks

open access: yesAnnals of the New York Academy of Sciences, Volume 1560, Issue 1, June 2026.
Rhythmic passive movement modulates affective states in domestic chicks, a species without maternal carrying. Slow rocking‐like and carrying‐like movements reduce contact vocalizations, reproducing mammalian soothing effects, while fast horizontal rocking‐like and fast carrying‐like movements increase pleasure‐related calls.
