The Sense of Propulsion: Sartre’s Freedom as Deleuzian Force
Abstract This paper will revitalize the notion of force in Sartre’s phenomenology by reinterpreting thrown-projection as propulsion. From there, Sartre’s analysis of agency will be explored as regards the constitutive moments pertaining to the dynamics of striving.

Ankle-targeted exosuit resistance increases paretic propulsion in people post-stroke
Background Individualized, targeted, and intense training is the hallmark of successful gait rehabilitation in people post-stroke. Specifically, increasing use of the impaired ankle to increase propulsion during the stance phase of gait has been linked ...

Optical trapping reveals propulsion forces, power generation and motility efficiency of the unicellular parasites Trypanosoma brucei brucei [PDF]
Unicellular parasites have developed sophisticated swimming mechanisms to survive in a wide range of environments. Cell motility of African trypanosomes, parasites responsible for fatal illness in humans and animals, is crucial both in the insect vector ...

Swimming propulsion and muscle force moments [PDF]
Based on 3D video analysis of swimming movements hypotheses on the mechanisms of propulsion are deduced. Body point coordinates and their first and second derivatives are computed. The limb environment where water particle displacement occurs is estimated. We apply the Navier–Stokes equation to compute the total force for those particles.

Phase and coherence analysis of VHF scintillation over Christmas Island [PDF]
This short paper presents phase and coherence data from the cross-wavelet transform applied on longitudinally separated very high frequency (VHF) equatorial ionospheric scintillation observations over Christmas Island. The phase and coherence analyses

Electroacoustic-Propulsion [PDF]
Present and future spaceflight missions depend on the ability to produce high exhaust velocities while reducing the dependence on chemical fuel and its mass onboard a spaceflight vehicle. Oscillation of gaseous molecules during pre-ejection stages via an
