The value of hybrid and non‐native ash for the conservation of ash specialists is limited following late stages of emerald ash borer invasion

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 355-370, August 2022., 2022
Abstract Widespread mortality of native North American ash caused by emerald ash borer (EAB; Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire) threatens native arthropod biodiversity, but hybrid ash populations with resistance to EAB may serve a role in supporting threatened communities of arthropods in managed landscapes impacted by EAB.

Identification of predatory arthropods of the invasive Halyomorpha halys through molecular gut content analysis

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 219-228, May 2022., 2022
The invasive Halyomorpha halys is a serious pest of fruit crops in Europe. Arthropod predators sharing the same habitat of H. halys were field collected The gut‐content analysis with real‐time PCR of the predators revealed that 11 insect species, 4 spider genera and 2 opilionid species were positive to H.

Predation and avoidance behaviour in aphid‐ladybird interactions of native and invasive ladybirds in Europe

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 41-47, February 2021., 2021
The invasive Harmonia axyridis and the native Coccinella septempunctata consumed more aphids than other ladybird species tested, due to their large body size. Aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum) avoided cues of most native ladybird species tested, but not of the invasive H. axyridis. Both, the fact that aphids do not avoid H.
