Toward Practical Li‐Ion Cells With Li/Mn‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes: A Techno‐Economic Perspective on Material and Cell Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Li/Mn‐rich layered oxide cathodes should be designed systematically according to their phase diagram. Starting from a common composition (point 1), the Li‐richness can be reduced (point 2), the Co content can be lowered (point 3), and finally, the Ni to Co ratio can be adjusted.

Anion Induced Electric Double Layer Compression and Desolvation Optimization Enable Long Life Zinc Anodes under High‐Rate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, the ionic additive MeSer compresses the EDL, reducing its thickness and internal repulsion, thereby enhancing 3D diffusion to achieve smooth Zn deposition. Meanwhile, MeSer− promote Zn2⁺ desolvation within the EDL, improving rate performance. Consequently, the symmetric cell operates for 600 h at 20 mA cm−2 and 20 mA h cm−2, and the full cell ...

Narrowing the Kinetic Gap Between Alkaline and Acidic Hydrogen Oxidation Reactions Through Intermediate Behaviors Regulated on D‐p Hybridized Pd‐Based Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The significantly narrowed kinetic gap between alkaline and acidic hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) can be accomplished by the d‐p hybridized PdGa alloy with modulated electronic structure and optimized reaction intermediate behaviors. Additionally, it can be identified that a pH‐dependent shift in dominant intermediates, transitioning from H/H2O ...
