Biochemical Characterization of a Kunitz‐Type Protease Inhibitor From Mimosa regnellii and Its Effects on Melanoma Cell Viability and Angiogenesis

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
A Kunitz‐type serine protease inhibitor (JTI) purified from Mimosa regnellii seeds selectively targets melanoma cells. JTI triggers mitochondrial apoptosis, increases ROS and Ca2+ levels, arrests the cell cycle, and suppresses migration and angiogenesis without affecting healthy cells.

Spatial Distribution of Parthenium hysterophorus: Impact on Plant Species Diversity and Soil Characteristics in Gamo Zone, Southern Ethiopia

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The invasions are severe and have an impact on pasture lands, farmlands, and conservation areas. However, there is little data on Parthenium hysterophorus L. (Parthenium) mapping using GIS in the Southern Region of Ethiopia. The objective of this study was to map the spatial distribution of Parthenium which affects the diversity of plant ...

Modelling the spread and control of prosopis juliflora plants

open access: yes, 2023
The Prosopis julifrola plant is a thorny leguminous shrub or small tree, a kind of mesquite in a family of Fabacea. It is extremely aggressive and invasive. The spreading agents include livestock dispersal and seeds in their droppings, human activity by vegetation restoration, firewood and charcoal and soil erosion control.
