Abstract In all the infants with the Pierre Robin syndrome that I have treated, the appliance was no longer needed after about two months of use. In those with a midline cleft, the part of the prosthesis closing the lip and supporting the nose is removed when surgery is performed on the lip.

Endo-prosthesis, a femoral head prosthesis and an acetabulum prosthesis
A prosthesis for insertion into a long bone includes a stem which has been shaped so as to evenly distribute low stress to the bone. A synthetic resinous sheath surrounds the stem which effects a contact surface between the stem and the bone.
