Implants for Auricular Prosthesis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry, 2017
ABSTRACT Implants are wonderful treatment option for auricular defects as it provides a retentive auricular prosthesis. Auricular defects can be rehabilitated by autogenous and prosthodontic methods. Implants provide retention of auricular prosthesis by bar and clip method and magnets.

Chemically Doped Conductive Polymers for Wearable Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Among conductive polymers, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), polyaniline (PANI), and polypyrrole (PPy) are the most studied and applied. Chemical doping significantly boosts intrinsic conductivity and mechanical robustness.

Implant retained auricular prosthesis

open access: yesJournal of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, 2017
Prosthetic ears are created for patients with microtia, a congenital defect that affects 1 in 10,000 births, as well as patients that have ears removed due to cancer and trauma. The current standard for ear prostheses is osseointegrated abutments and either magnets or bar clip prosthetic attachments.

Mapping of Physiological Signals From Wireless Battery‐Free Implants With Plane‐Wave Ultrasound Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Combined approach of electromagnetic (Power) and ultrasound (data harvesting) waves is proposed to address the miniaturized ultrasonic implants. Electromagnetic waves trigger the piezoelectric element to generate the acoustic pulse which is modulated by the variations in the sensor's impedance.

An update on the best approaches to prevent complications in penile prosthesis recipients

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Urology, 2019
Placement of inflatable penile prosthesis is a procedure frequently performed for medication-refractory erectile dysfunction. Device implantation is not without risks, and as the frequency of device implantation increases, so do associated complications.
