A review of the genus Ledermuelleriopsis Willmann (Acari : Prostigmata : Stigmaeidae)

Invertebrate Systematics, 2003
The mite family Stigmaeidae (Acari : Prostigmata) is of considerable importance in biological control, but its genera are often poorly defined and have never been subjected to cladistic analysis. Herein, we report the stigmaeid genus Ledermuelleriopsis Willmann from Australia for the first time, present a preliminary phylogenetic analysis that ...

Corrections to the Catalog of the Eriophyoidea (Acarina: Prostigmata) of the World

International Journal of Acarology, 1996
Abstract Corrections are provided to entries in the Catalog of the Eriophyoidea (Acarina: Prostigmata) of the World by J. Amrine and T. Stasny, 1994; some of the corrections are errors present in the original text; other corrections are based on new information, not available at time of publication.

Eriophyoid mites (Acari: Prostigmata: Eriophyidae) associated with Compositae in Iran

Zootaxa, 2013
Five species of eriophyoid mites were identified during surveys of mite fauna associated with plant species of the family Compositae from Southwest of East Azerbaijan province during 2010 and 2011. Two of them, Aceria virgatae n. sp. from Centaurea virgata Lam. and Aceria xeranthemis n. sp.

Observations on the Generic Classification of Tarsonemid Mites (Prostigmata) [PDF]

open access: possible, 1973
This paper is part of a larger study that reviews the classification of the Tarsonemidae and demonstrates that more characters can be used in defining supraspecific groups in this family. Other parts of this study deal with structures overemphasized as generic characters, and with potentially useful characters of the leg setation.

Eriophyoid mites (Acari: Prostigmata: Eriophyoidea) of Latvia: an annotated checklist

Zootaxa, 2019
A bibliographical checklist of eriophyoid mites reported from Latvia is compiled. To date, 67 eriophyoid mite species associated with more than 29 plant genera have been recorded from Latvia. Many eriophyoid mite species previously reported in the literature were based on damage symptoms only rather than mite morphology.

The new species and their host plants are as follows: Eotetranychus palatiensis sp. nov. from Morus australis Poiret (Moraceae), Eotetranychus carpinicolus sp. nov. from Carpinus laxiflora (Siebold et Zuccarini) Blume and C.

Seven species of the family Tetranychidae and five species of the family Tenuipalpidae are listed from Hungary. Several new occurrences from all areas of Hungary are given with notes to the host plants. New drawings and scanning micrographs of the seven species are represented and the new and already known occurrences of the rarely collected species ...

Recommended procedures and techniques for morphological studies of Eriophyoidea (Acari: Prostigmata)

Experimental and Applied Acarology, 2009
Methods used for sample storage, specimen clearing, slide mounting, species illustration and morphometric description in alpha-taxonomic studies are essential for the Eriophyoidea. Eriophyoid mites are very tiny and delicate, for which truly permanent specimen slides currently cannot be prepared, resulting in eventual loss of material, including type ...

Ontophylogenetic Considerations on the Chaetotaxy of Caeculidae (Acari — Prostigmata)

1973
On tbe basis of a comparative study of the post-larval development of the chaetotaxy of many species of Caeculidae we may distinguish two basic chaetotactic stages: I. The initial ontogenetic stage of the larval chaetotaxy. This is identical for all species whose larvae are known, the difference consisting only in the relative structure of setae.
