Die bestehende Subfamilie Nilotoniinae muss in den Rang einer Familie erhoben werden. Es wird die neugefasste Diagnose der Nilotoniidae n. f. gegeben.

1973On tbe basis of a comparative study of the post-larval development of the chaetotaxy of many species of Caeculidae we may distinguish two basic chaetotactic stages: I. The initial ontogenetic stage of the larval chaetotaxy. This is identical for all species whose larvae are known, the difference consisting only in the relative structure of setae.
