Individual identification of bony fishes using unique body markings: Implications and applications

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, Volume 107, Issue 6, Page 1852-1867, December 2025.
Abstract The natural variation in animal body markings, such as spots, stripes and blotches, offers a powerful tool for researchers, conservationists, citizen scientists and resource managers to distinguish specific individuals within species. By building libraries of photo‐identified individuals, we can track and differentiate individuals over time ...

Diversity Patterns and Ecological Network Features of Soil Mite Trophic Groups in Karst Cave Ecosystems

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
Along karst cave gradients, soil mites show rising α‐diversity yet declining functional diversity toward cave entrances. Predatory mites sustain ecological network stability as keystone taxa despite simplified communities in oligotrophic zones. This reveals biodiversity maintenance mechanisms in extreme subterranean ecosystems.

Betaine Mitigates Paclitaxel‐Induced Hepatotoxicity in Rats by Regulating Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, Apoptosis, and Autophagy

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study investigated the protective effect of betaine (BTN) against paclitaxel (PTL)‐induced liver injury in rats. The results showed that betaine reduced PTL‐induced liver injury by improving antioxidant levels, reducing inflammation, apoptosis, and regulating autophagy.

Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Oral Immunotherapy Effect on Food Allergy‐Related Quality of Life

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 80, Issue 10, Page 2767-2780, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Uncertainty exists regarding the health‐related quality of life (HRQL) benefits of food allergen oral immunotherapy (OIT). Up‐to‐date meta‐analyses incorporating HRQL data from recent randomised trials are lacking. Methods Systematic searches of MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL and Google Scholar were conducted for food OIT randomised ...
