Hide and Seek: Species Detectability in a Biodiversity Hotspot Increased by Environmental DNA
We demonstrated through Bayesian modeling that eDNA metabarcoding offers equivalent or higher detectability than traditional field inventory techniques for anuran species in a biodiversity hotspot. The number of recorded species was also higher in seven out of ten sampled streams.

Roads increase wildlife mortality and isolate populations. This study monitored the movements and abundance of small mammals in areas with and without wildlife passages along BR‐101 in Rio de Janeiro for 12 months. Our results show that although many mammals avoid roads, some species use these passages, increasing population connectivity.
