Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Quarantine hotel employees’ protection motivation, pandemic fear, resilience and behavioural intention

open access: yes, 2023
Quarantine hotels have been established by governments to accommodate COVID-19 infected or potentially infectious guests. The employees of these hotels, despite the high-risk environment, must provide services to guests.

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Polymer Interface Enables Reversible Quasi‐Solid Sulfur Conversion in Sodium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polymer interface enables a stable quasi‐solid sulfur conversion pathway in room‐temperature Na─S batteries. The coating regulates Na+ transport, stabilizes the cathode–electrolyte interphase, and accommodates mechanical stress, suppressing electrolyte decomposition and sulfur migration, thereby improving reaction uniformity, reducing polarization,

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Protection Motivation Theory and Contingent Valuation: Perceived Realism, Threat and WTP Estimates for Biodiversity Protection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We report on a discrete-choice CV study conducted in Germany to value the WTP for biodiversity protection in less developed countries. To systematically investigate survey realism and subjective threat assessment from the loss of biodiversity described ...
