Passive protection cells

Proceedings of the IEE - Part B: Radio and Electronic Engineering, 1958
A passive protection cell consists essentially of a t.r. cell containing argon without water vapour. The effects of the omission of water vapour from the gas filling on keep-alive characteristics, leakage power and recovery time are described. Tests on several cells in active duplexing systems have shown that lives in excess of 10000 hours are obtained.

Protective films in passivity

Zeitschrift für Elektrochemie, Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1958
AbstractAn “Inhibitor” is something added to a corrosive liquid to render it non‐corrosive; “passivity” is a change in the metal remaining after it has emerged from the “inhibiting” bath, enabling it to resist liquids which normally would corrode it. The object of the paper is to ask whether passivity is due to (1) a three‐dimensional film (2) a two ...

Passive Immune Protection of Turkeys against Coryza

Avian Diseases, 1997
Antisera made against whole cells of Bordetella avium protected turkeys against disease signs of turkey coryza, but antiserum against the dermonecrotic heat-labile toxin (DHLT) did not. Neither antiserum against whole cells nor antiserum against DHLT protected turkeys against colonization of the trachea by B. avium.
