Power transistor protection schemes
International Journal of Electronics, 1985The paper is concerned with one of the chief drawbacks of power transistors, thai is the need for fault and overcurrent protection. Two schemes are proposed to detect overload and desaturation of the power transistor and thence turn it off. The circuit described can be used with resistive as well as inductive toads.
