The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Pelates quadrilineatus (Perciformes: Terapontidae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2018
The complete mitochondrial genome of marine fish Pelates quadrilineatus was sequenced by the high throughput sequencing method. This genome was 16,823 bp in length, consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes and one large non ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence and phylogenetic analysis of Anisarchus medius (Reinhardt, 1837)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2019
Anisarchus medius (Reinhardt, 1837) has been identified as a target species for investigating the effects of climate change on population patterns in coastal Arctic ecosystems.

Protein-coding variants implicate novel genes related to lipid homeostasis contributing to body-fat distribution. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Body-fat distribution is a risk factor for adverse cardiovascular health consequences. We analyzed the association of body-fat distribution, assessed by waist-to-hip ratio adjusted for body mass index, with 228,985 predicted coding and splice site ...

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Perciformes fish (Brama dussumieri) from South China Sea

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2018
Brama dussumieri is one of the members of the family Bramidae and is widely distributed in the North Pacific Ocean. In this study, we described the complete mitochondrial genome of B. dussumieri.

Stability domains of actin genes and genomic evolution

open access: yes, 2007
In eukaryotic genes the protein coding sequence is split into several fragments, the exons, separated by non-coding DNA stretches, the introns. Prokaryotes do not have introns in their genome.
