Life or cell death: identifying c-Myc regulated genes in two distinct tissues [PDF]
The c-myc oncogene is over-expressed or deregulated in many human cancers. c-myc encodes a transcription factor, the oncoprotein c-Myc (Myc), which acts as a master regulator of genes involved in such diverse cellular processes as replication and growth,

Gasdermin‐Mediated Pyroptosis: Novel Strategies Against Colorectal Cancer
Pyroptosis is a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer (CRC): chronic low‐grade pyroptosis promotes tumor progression, whereas acute induction of pyroptosis in cancer cells triggers antitumor immunity and enhances therapeutic response. Targeting gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis represents a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

Using an immunocompetent mouse model of Egfr Ex19del‐driven lung cancer, we found that osimertinib‐resistant tumors acquired Egfr V804F, the murine counterpart of human EGFR V802F. Afatinib, but not osimertinib, suppressed phosphorylation of EGFR and overcame V804F‐mediated resistance, providing a preclinical rationale for biomarker‐guided therapy ...

Influenza A viruses and PI3K signalling
The influenza A virus non-structural (NS1) protein is multifunctional, and during virus-infection NS1 interacts with several factors in order to manipulate host-cell processes.

Oncogenic BRAF and KRAS promote global DNA hypomethylation through a directed pathway that increases the levels of TET3, which helps drive tumorigenesis. ABSTRACT Aberrant epigenetic modification is one of the characteristics of the cancer genome.

The N-terminal region of proto-dbl down regulates its transforming activity
The dbl proto-oncogene can transform NIH3T3 cells when overexpressed, but its transforming activity is about 50 to 70 fold lower than that of the dbl oncogene. The dbl oncogene encodes a protein of 478 amino-acids while proto-dbl encodes a protein of 925

Targeting Cell Cycle Vulnerabilities in Cancers: Emerging Strategies for Therapeutic Development
Dysregulated cell cycle control often involves alternative compensatory pathways in cancers to maintain its robustness but provide unique targetable vulnerabilities. We overview recent insights on cancer‐specific vulnerabilities across the cell cycle and discuss how these can be used to develop new therapeutic strategies.
