The WHO Classification of Genetic Tumour Syndromes: Considerations for Genetics

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 110, Issue 3, Page 389-401, September 2026.
The WHO Classification of Tumours underpins the diagnosis of neoplastic conditions. The new WHO classification of genetic tumour syndromes (GTS) provides international standards for their diagnosis. This diagram highlights the chromosomal distribution of the genes involved in the GTS covered in this classification.

Molecular Mediators Associated With Myelination, Demyelination, and Remyelination in the Peripheral Nervous System

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 31, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is responsible for innervating all regions of the body outside of the central nervous system (CNS), the latter consisting of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. While myelin is an essential component for the efficient functioning of both CNS and peripheral nerve cells, it is particularly important for ...

FUCA2 Sustains AKT Signaling and Suppresses Senescence by Antagonizing FUT3‐Mediated ErbB3 Fucosylation in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
ABSTRACT While targeted therapies have improved outcomes in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), many patients still lack targetable mutations. Here, we identified alpha‐L‐fucosidase 2 (FUCA2) as a crucial driver of LUAD by preventing cellular senescence. Mechanistically, through the restriction of fucosyltransferase 3 (FUT3)‐mediated α‐1,3‐fucosylation of ...

MAFF Suppresses Necroptosis in Pancreatic Cancer via the GATA4‐MLKL Axis

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2181-2193, August 2026.
MAFF promotes pancreatic cancer progression by acting as a transcriptional repressor of the GATA4‐MLKL axis, thereby inhibiting necroptotic cell death. This study identifies the MAFF‐GATA4‐MLKL pathway as a novel therapeutic target and a significant prognostic biomarker for pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Multi‐Omics Integration Reveals That SN‐011 Targets JUNB to Upregulate ADGRE5 and Restore Vascular Endothelial Cell Communication in Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 108, Issue 2, August 2026.
Ischemic stroke (IS) remains a leading cause of disability with limited therapeutic targets. Using multi‐omics integration, we identified ADGRE5 as a protective gene significantly downregulated in venous endothelial cells (vECs) during IS. JUNB acts as a key upstream transcription factor that negatively regulates ADGRE5 expression.

Inflammatory Cytokines Impair Glucagon Expression and Secretion in Pancreatic α‐Cells

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 8, Page 7149-7160, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Insulin resistance and obesity‐associated inflammation are key drivers in the pathogenesis of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Whilst inflammatory cytokines are well known to impair β‐cell function, their impact on pancreatic α‐cells and glucagon (GCG) regulation remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the effects of the

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 7, Page 1694-1712, July 2026.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Multiple myeloma: A tale of deregulated transcription factors

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract A comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying multiple myeloma (MM) pathogenesis is essential for developing therapeutic strategies that overcome disease heterogeneity and treatment relapse. In this review, we focus on transcription factors (TFs), key regulators of gene expression that play critical roles in normal ...

Osimertinib Resistance in EGFR‐Mutated Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
This review illustrates the key mechanisms of osimertinib resistance in EGFR‑mutant NSCLC, including EGFR‑dependent mutations, bypass pathway activation, and SMARCA4‑mediated epigenetic regulation. We also summarize emerging targeted therapies and future perspectives to overcome EGFR‑TKI resistance.
