Scalable Multilayer PTFE‐Reinforced Membranes for Durable, High‐Current‐Density Hydroxide Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis in Dilute Alkali

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low‐Tg HEMs are designed to improve membrane‐electrode adhesion by promoting intimate contact with catalyst layers. After hydration, the membrane develops a hydrogel‐like network that supports water uptake and ion transport while retaining mechanical robustness.

Integrated O2 and H2 Gas Therapy via Microneedle‐Assisted Photocatalytic Water Splitting for Accelerating Diabetic Full‐Thickness Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A concept of integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy is achieved using a gas‐producing material. PMP nanoparticles, fabricated from platinum, MIL‐101(Fe)‐NH2, and phosphotungstic acid, are integrated into bilayer gelatin methacryloyl microneedles for transdermal delivery. These microneedles enable integrated O2 and H2 gas therapy and promote wound healing via

Correlated Polymer‐Proton Hopping Enables Water‐Independent Fast Proton Transport in Poly(Ionic Liquid) Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A polymer chain in motion: backbone, ring, and counterion dynamics interlock across timescales to relay protons through poly(ionic liquid) membranes. ABSTRACT Polymer electrolyte membranes composed of ionic liquids (IL), capable of conducting protons efficiently at elevated temperatures, without external humidification, could transform fuel cell ...

Plasma‐Engineered Polyethylene‐Reinforced Anion Exchange Membranes With Low Ionic Resistance and Low Hydrogen Crossover for Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oxygen plasma functionalizes porous polyethylene, enabling complete hydrocarbon ionomer infiltration within a dense submicron pore network. The resulting reinforced composite membrane simultaneously enhances mechanical robustness and suppresses hydrogen permeation at ultrathin thickness. An integrated performance index confirms the effectiveness of the

Tailoring Structure–Property Relationships in π‐Conjugated Heterocyclic Poly(arylene alkylene) Anion‐Exchange Membranes for High‐Performance Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
From passive to active ion transport: π‐conjugated heterocycles reconfigure the hydration environment and microphase morphology of p‐terphenyl‐based anion‐exchange membranes, enabling fast hydroxide transport and high‐performance water electrolysis. ABSTRACT Anion‐exchange membrane water electrolysis (AEMWE) is a promising technology for sustainable ...
