Cobalt based Non-precious Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Reduction Reaction in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

open access: yes, 2010
Proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs) have received wide attention over the recent few decades as an environmental benign technology, because of low emissions and high conversion efficiency for vehicle and portable devices.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomics and Metabolomics Reveal Glutamate Dehydrogenase as a Central Regulator of Nitrogen Metabolic Remodeling During Alkalinity Adaptation in Crustaceans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics reveals the cellular response of Macrobrachium hainanense to carbonate alkalinity stress. Alkalinity stress impairs branchial ammonia excretion, induces mitochondrial dysfunction, and drives cell‐type‐specific changes in gills and hemocytes.

A pH‐Switchable Cerium Single‐Atom Enzyme for Peri‐Implantitis Therapy via JAK‐STAT Signaling Axis‐Mediated Macrophage Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH‐switchable cerium single‐atom enzyme is developed for stage‐specific peri‐implantitis therapy. Acidic conditions trigger antibacterial peroxidase‐like activity, whereas neutral conditions activate an antioxidant superoxide dismutase ‐ and catalase ‐like enzymatic relay. This microenvironment‐adaptive catalytic strategy suppresses the IL‐6/JAK‐STAT

Revealing the Nanoscale Morphology Changes of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell Catalyst Layers due to Conditioning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We apply ex situ and in situ scanning transmission X‐ray microscopy to reveal the structural degradation of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell catalyst layers due to conditioning and thermal heating of the catalyst coated membrane. We observe a redistribution of the ionomer and carbon‐black in the catalyst layer, as well as nanoscale membrane ...

Composite anode for CO tolerance proton exchange membrane fuel cells

open access: yes, 2002
Fuel of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) mostly comes from reformate containing CO. which will poison the fuel cell electrocatalyst. The effect of CO on the performance of PEMFC is studied in this paper.
