Proton–Proton and Proton–Antiproton Colliders

Reviews of Accelerator Science and Technology, 2014
In the last five decades, proton–proton and proton–antiproton colliders have been the most powerful tools for high energy physics investigations. They have also deeply catalyzed innovation in accelerator physics and technology. Among the large number of proposed colliders, only four have really succeeded in becoming operational: the ISR, the SppbarS ...

The scattering of protons by protons and the meson field of the proton

Physica, 1948
Abstract New calculations are made on the scattering of protons by protons with several values of the potential energy of the proton, this energy being assumed to be the meson potential. The results of these calculations are compared with the available experimental material.

The Scattering of Protons by Protons

Physical Review, 1936
Our measurements of proton-proton scattering during 1936 established the existence of large nuclear forces between protons at close distances, in addition to the usual Coulomb forces. These nuclear forces give rise to scattering in excess of the Coulomb prediction, appreciable at 700 kilovolts and very marked at 900 kv. In the energy region between 200

Proton-proton bremsstrahlung with polarized protons

2008
The asymmetry in proton-proton bremsstrahlung is given for a variety of kinematic conditions in the soft photon approximation. It is argued that the asymmetry may be more sensitive to the unknown higher-order terms than the cross section and is shown that several models giving similar cross sections give quite different asymmetries, which could thus be

Proton-proton bremsstrahlung

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1978
A field theoretic calculation of ppγ is presented. Strong interactions are taken into account to second order. Apart form the contribution of OBE external exmission, the contributions of the ω‐radiative‐decay process and Δ excitation are calculated.

The Scattering of Protons by Protons

Physical Review, 1939
The cross section for scattering of protons by protons has been measured at angles from 15\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} to 45\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} for protons of energies 860, 1200, 1390, 2105 and 2392 kev. Observed scattering cross sections at 15\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} are close to Mott values for all energies.

QCD in High-Energy Proton-Proton and Proton-Antiproton Collisions

1985
The experimental and theoretical investigation of nucleon-nucleon collisions at high energies allows to explore the structure of the nucleon by large momentum transfer (deep-inelastic) processes. In these lectures the structure of the nucleon from momentum scales Q > 1 GeV/c (

Proton-Proton Interaction

Physical Review Letters, 1961
A model for p-p interactions below 350 Mev is studied, which contains a boundary condition to represent the shortrange potential, and a fourth order static perturbative tail for the long-range interaction. The scattering phase shifts and wave functions are found for various energies and quantum states.

Protonated Heme

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2007
AbstractThe ions formally corresponding to protonated heme [FeII–hemeH]+ have been obtained by collision‐induced dissociation from the electrospray ionization of microperoxidase (MP11) and their gas‐phase chemistry has been studied by FTICR mass spectrometry.

The external proton beams and the proton‐proton experiments

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1980
The ZGS was one of the first accelerators in which extracted primary proton beams and experimental halls were part of the initial design. Special features incorporated into the ring made it possible to permanently position extraction magnets, and there was no need to plunge them as in other machines.
