Limitations of the modified blackbody fit method for determining molecular cloud properties
Abstract Achieving a comprehensive understanding of the star and planet formation process is one of the fundamental tasks of astrophysics, requiring detailed knowledge of the physical conditions during the different phases of this process. During the earliest stages, that is, concerning physical processes in molecular clouds and filaments, the column ...

High Resolution Near-Infrared Spectra of Protostars [PDF]
We present new high resolution (R = 21,000) near-infrared (2 microns) spectroscopic observations of a sample of Class I and flat-spectrum protostellar objects in the rho Ophiuchi dark cloud.

METHYL CYANIDE OBSERVATIONS TOWARD MASSIVE PROTOSTARS [PDF]
We report the results of a survey in the CH3CN J= 12-11 transition toward a sample of massive proto-stellar candidates. The observations were carried out with the 10 m Submillimeter telescope on Mount Graham, AZ. We detected this molecular line in 9 out of 21 observed sources. In six cases this is the first detection of this transition.

The JWST-NIRCam View of Sagittarius C. I. Massive Star Formation and Protostellar Outflows
We present James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Near Infrared Camera observations of the massive star-forming molecular cloud Sagittarius C (Sgr C) in the Central Molecular Zone (CMZ).

Outflows and winds launched from young stars play a crucial role in the evolution of protostars and the early stages of planet formation. However, the specific details of the mechanism behind these phenomena, including how they affect the protoplanetary ...

Constraining the abundances of complex organics in the inner regions of solar-type protostars [PDF]
The high abundances of Complex Organic Molecules (COMs) with respect to methanol, the most abundant COM, detected towards low-mass protostars, tend to be underpredicted by astrochemical models.

EVOLUTION OF MASS OUTFLOW IN PROTOSTARS [PDF]
ABSTRACT We have surveyed 84 Class 0, Class I, and flat-spectrum protostars in mid-infrared [Si ii], [Fe ii], and [S i] line emission, and 11 of these in far-infrared [O i] emission. We use the results to derive their mass outflow rates, .

The earliest phases of high-mass star formation: a 3 square degree millimeter continuum mapping of Cygnus X [PDF]
We have made an extensive 1.2mm continuum mosaicing study of the Cygnus X molecular cloud complex using the MAMBO cameras at the IRAM 30 m telescope. We then compared our mm maps with mid-IR images, and have made SiO(2-1) follow-up observations of the ...

Studying the Effect of Radiation Pressure on Evolution of a Population III Stellar Cluster
Recent numerical simulations have shown that the unstable disk within the central regime of the primordial gas cloud fragments to form multiple protostars on several scales.
