Prototheca sp. Outbreak of Bovine Mastitis
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 1996Prototheca sp., a colourless algae, is quite common in dairy environments, particularly in wet areas contaminated with manure. The main purpose of this paper is to describe an outbreak of clinical bovine mastitis in an 86-cow dairy herd in the State of Säo Paulo, Brazil.

Mycopathologia, 1980The ultrastructure of Prototheca salmonis is described, and compared with known isolates of Prototheca. Prototheca salmonis was found to be the causative agent of a disease, grossly affecting the visceral organs of Salmon parr in fresh water stocks of a fish farm.
