In this study, we developed a real‐time PCR assay targeting the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (cox1) gene of M. avidus to sensitively detect and quantify the parasite in seawater.

Photochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.A cationic free‐base porphyrin and porphyrazine and their zinc(II) complexes were combined to carbon dots (CD). The macrocycles strongly interact with the nanoparticles, quenching the CD fluorescence and enhancing the fluorescence emission efficiency of a porphyrazine by 140% and the singlet oxygen production of a porphyrin by 70%.
